When I was born my mom said I looked so cute and innocent that she just knew in her heart of hearts that I would be a good girl. The kind who got a good education, held a great job, went to church, and got married to her high school sweetheart. Therefore, she named me Innocence.
Now for the most part mom was right. I breezed through school, eventually becoming a lawyer with the Dade County’s District Attorneys’ Office which I must admit was a great job! I did attend church religiously and yes, I was married, although not to my high school sweetheart.
Technically, you could argue that mom’s prediction was right on the money seeing as how I had such a good life and most people who knew me believed I was the perfect good girl. The perfect church-going, career-minded, married woman. However, that was far from the truth.
Unbeknownst to everyone, the good girl image I portrayed was a lie. An elaborate game of smoke and mirrors. An illusion. Because I, Innocence Parker, a church-going, married mother of two, was an adulterer twice over. In addition, a murderer.
Why? Where should I begin? If I started from the beginning, you would not understand the end. In addition, if I started from the end, you would not understand the beginning. Therefore, I think it would be best if I just started in the middle, seeing as how that was where it all began.
Mamaw Namid’s Rating:
I purchased this book through the Kindle Unlimited program, this is my HONEST review.
This isn’t my usual norm when it comes to romance books, but I’m getting into them more and more. This was a pretty fast-paced and fun book.
The main female character, Innocence, is one of those villains that you just love to hate. The ones you wish you could be if you (I know I secretly do) were in the book!
I found the pace in the first 25% of the book a bit slow, but if you hang on, you get one hell of a ride!
With the consistency and continuity you guys know I love, this book is fun from beginning to end.
Just be careful because you just may burn up before you reach the end!
This book is 18+ due to violence, language, and detailed sexual activity.
