Title: The Wasteland
By: KA Knight
Genre: Dystopian Reverse Harem
The world ended and with it so did the rules.
I was stolen from my family and raised in the Wastelands to the North. I did what I had to ensure my survival. I became The Champion, with my history carved into my skin for all to see.
Now I spend my days drinking and hiding from my past until four newcomers offer me a job I can’t refuse. When my past and future mix I must once again rise and fight. This time it’s not for my freedom, it’s for my happiness.
*18+ Reverse Harem Romance. Warning this book contains scenes and references of abuse that some readers may find triggering.*
The Reaper’s Review:
Disclaimer: I’m not a fan of dystopian. I loved the Wasteland. This book made me change my mind on this genre.
Now that we’ve established that this isn’t a normal genre read for me, let me tell you why I loved it. See, I have this thing, I absolutely LOVE strong female leads. And the FMC is a total badass. The book opens strong and the first chapter is like, “BOOM.” *mic drop*
Meeting the guys was a fun experience. But they were ballsy. I had some reservations about them in the beginning, but they grew on me. I haven’t decided who I liked more – Jax or Maxen. But then again, there’s Dray. Now he’s a character I want to get to know more. He’s a little bit evil, and I have a thing for villains. I’m not saying he’s a villain, but he’s dangerous.
– Badass characters
– Character development
– Dray, cuz I’m single-minded sometimes
– There’s a cliffy here, so prepare to scream NOOOOOO when your kindle stops turning pages at the end.
– Not enough Dray, because again, single-minded sometimes.
This was a great book to pop my dystopian cherry. And it’s RH so that’s a plus. There’s tons of action that leads up to that dramatic ending. I can’t wait to see book 2.
